This cap is made from six panels of handmade washi paper. The high crown and large brim provide ample coverage around the face. It is made from three layers of Oguni paper, a national intangible cultural property, coated with persimmon tannins, making it water-resistant and heavy-duty. It is hand-kneaded to create wrinkles and increase its strength, making it less susceptible to damage.
